3 Waters The PM Speaks after Labour’s Local Govt Debacle
Being economical with the truth? Yes!
“I didn’t see anyone campaigning on the counterfactual to Three Waters, the alternative, which is rates increases”.
“We don’t want that, I don’t think anyone wants that, and yet if we do nothing that will be the inevitable outcome”.
No-one is suggesting doing nothing, but it is clear ratepayers cannot be expected to bear all the burden of infrastructure refurbishment. This needs a better financial structure.
My opinion. The real issue is the compulsory-to-be transfer of power and the benefits of ownership (despite local councils being nominal owners of existing infrastructure networks) being transferred to the Maori tribal elites and their wealthy corporate businesses.
Little has been said in our bribed and craven MSM about the probability of compulsory water use levies being paid to the tribal elites.
Insultingly, the PM threw a sprat to catch a mackerel when opining “having said that, the Three Waters legislation was now before a select committee, and the Government was open to changes that would enable as smooth a transition as possible”.
In my humble opinion, an arrogant outgoing government will steamroll their 3 Waters rort through the select committee with little notice taken of submitters’ changes for a fairer scheme. One not disadvantaging ratepayers and 2023 voters.
Until today Andy when we see why so many Kiwi’s haven’t trusted the 3 Waters transfer of ownership. Now, very suddenly, it’s ALL of Local government that the Maori elite seek to Co-govern, coupled with the enforcement if their highly derived view of the Treaty to be upheld and adopted by all and sundry. That’s the view that (according to our our Senior MPs) everyone apparently signed up to equitable outcomes in 1840 - that Māori would have equitable health, wealth and stealth in 2022.. And of course it’s a partnership contract but Māori have their own laws when they want, how they want. And Māori culture and language come first and foremost.
Can you blame them? The wallet is open, the opportunity exists and the greed is prevalent. Good luck, I look forward to the embarrassment of a race as it is crucified accordingly.
