The following survey was taken during January 2022, before the Wellington protests. 1,000 respondents provided a margin of error of +/- 3.1%. It was commissioned by Hobson's Pledge and conducted by Curia Research.
Thinking now about the state of New Zealand and our society, do you think New Zealand and New Zealanders are less divided, or more divided than a year ago?
You may want to offer your own response.
Multicultural ideology is definitively associated with diminished social trust.
Given New Zealand is officially Bicultural, namely a self-identifying "Maori" elite (which is an unchallengable political construct) and a Muticultural hoi polloi that seeks to homogenize cultures, customs and traditions into one size fits all, which most reject, the resultant ideologically fueled adversarial mess is serious country-wrecking material.
Aotearoa New Zealand is generally regarded as a country with a high level of social cohesion

Just heard from "breakingviewsnz" that:
"Christopher Luxon says National will stand candidates in Maori Electorate seats ....
In 2008 National said its plan was to eventually get rid of the Maori seats......"
Anybody that thinks National fronted by Luxon will address racial division is dreaming.
well that’s a bit of a useless survey - it tells us nothing that we didn’t already know.
Why not ask “why are we more divided?” It could be any number of things………petrol prices, hospital care, Donald Trump, inflation, house prices, exams, getting older, unemployment, employment, global warming, diet, social media, mental health, mortgage rates, home repairs, covid, crime, corruption, lockdowns, 501 returnees, education, losing weight, drugs, public transport, relationships, retirement, rental property, insurance, hair loss, children, pet care, elections, homework, workplace accidents, prescription pricing, gang violence, etc.
I would vote yes we are more divided. Will we unite, if so to what cause?
