The people who are a great success in life and in business and politics are the people who not necessarily had a great deal of business or political nouse but they have / had the ability to surround themselves with smart people.

Sadly for us and I write this a national supporter ,Luxton does not have too many people to surround himself with who are smart enough to run the country and keep it on an even keel. Taxindas ability seems to be more of an ability to get someone else to fire her bullets while she stands smiling in the background.

Key was the key to nationals downfall. Had he stood instead of retiring prior to the election national would have been returned. Key could have shown a bit more loyalty and stood and resigned after the election. I am sure national would have been returned had he stood. But no,he abandoned us, leaving us to the lefty bunch we now have half running this country. He wasn’t very smart when he couldn't read the mood of the country over his mad escapade of trying to change the flag. Luxton may be a white wealthy fundamentalist, so what, Wokeinda is red wealthy with a peroneal net worth of $10.000.000. https://www.celebnetworths.com/famous/jacinda-ardern-net-worth-age-height-wife I can understand a man of Luxton's experience and work life being wealthy but…

The Nats did not Win the election, they got more votes yes Bit in case nobody noticed labour is the Govt. Many Nat voters gave the POOH their party vote hoping to keep the stench of the greens out of the house. They should have known the POOH would never go with national, for Gods sake he had a court case against them was pending. At the following election the glare from the teeth left people dazzled and they voted Labour again. I suspect the magnetic attraction of the teeth could well see them in again. Now Luxton he may not on the surface appear to be what we all want from a leader but one has to give the man credit …

Tremain's on fire!

Personally, I didn't have too much of a problem with the flag referendum. It was a democratic process and Key didn't try to force an agenda supporting flag down our throats, unlike Ardern with her 'Aotearoa'.

Referendums could now be run electronically, rapidly and at relatively low cost, so should be seeing a lot more use in democratic government.

The signing of UNDRIP though was a terrible move by Key.

Woke Luxon will be good for Act and that's probably about the best that can be said.

Also Ron. Labour was involved and agreed with the flag referendum. REFERENDUM being the operative word. which is certainly unheard of with this Government.
