Not only is dismantling of democratic process ok by this Government, when democracy doesn't suit their authoritarian, neo Marxist, tribalist agenda, but lies and obfuscation are also fine, given that rarely are there any consequences.
Beware with local elections coming up, left wing candidates, often fully paid up Labour or Green members, will have witnessed the example set by this Government that hiding real intent works. So they'll lie in their manifestos and on the billboards and in their speeches to get elected, then do something completely different just as soon as they're ensconced in a council seat.
It used to be that 'overriding democracy' was rare, and when it happened it attracted a howl of media cries.
The media used to be the soft and tender conscience of the nation, quickly alerting the general population of any government wrong doing.
Today, democratic override is occurring with eye watering regularity, and the closer we get to the next election, the more Labour appears to be ratcheting up it's willingness to engage in it.
But each time Labour do it, there is not a peep of protest from the media.
They are like the rugby referee who witnesses a clear forward pass, and the players see it, and the crowd see it, but he signals 'play…
