Te Reo just means language or speech. Te Reo Pakeha is English for example.
But if everybody wanted to learn Te Reo Maori it would be a bottom up movement not a top down one. I'm getting very tired of these impositions by this government most of whom can only say enough Maori for one sentence at the beginning of their speeches and a thank you at the end. The truth is that as a country of 5 million Te Reo Maori doesn't have any use outside of this country. And try and virtue signal on the haka outside of this country and you'll be laughed at as well. Last night at the University of Otago Aaron Hawkins did the…
PS If you think that Pakeha colonized the South Island then you have to acknowledge that Ngai Tahu did the same thing. There was no concept of Nu Tirani (New Zealand) at the time so Ngai Tahu were outside forces just as much as British and Australian settlers were.
'Fail' is an acceptable word now, Te Reo or English, the more Labour fails in everything, the more cringeworthy they become with their explanation of FAIL.......they had to expel an MP rather than investigate the issues........the rot goes right to the top...ARDERN
Garrick, you need to put all these Cartoons into a book that is available about the middle of next year before the election with the hope it will be widely distributed for all to see the achievements of this terrible Government.
In fact the title of the book is "Achievements of the Ardern Led Government 2017-2023"
A warning on the Book " Only available to those with an IQ over 75".
This could be the best Coffee Table Book of all time.
I would place an order now for a Limited Edition Hard Cover Author Signed Copy.
Whoa great cartoon that has hit the target and it covers most bases .Too many empty desks with not enough kids to fill them well at least not with truancy levels at an all time high. Te Reo or should we say stone age jabberwockey looks like a root cause of many of the ills. Tremain spells it out very nicely but to be fair the inane education system is stuffed anyway and abject failures in literacy reading comprehension maths and science are the desired order of the day . Oh and guess what we are at the bottom of the education heap in the developed world quite an achievement in 50 years coinciding with our obsession with things maori.
Replace the words "te reo" with "poetry" and it's just as funny.
