After the jab seasons my teenes are treating school as at their option. Too much Maori has also not helped--where's is grammar? With too few root words all we van have is a farce.
Your Seagerformayor profile says you study/dabble in history. An historian would delve further than consulting an online dictionary, e.g. approach kaumātua from the local marae Arai te Uru about the origins of the name Otepoti.
You are correct that Te poti is a borrowed word for boat, vote, and cat, but its other meanings as “corner” and “basket” are not borrowed from English.
Maybe your slogan could be Poti For Richie?

This is the rub.
Socialist governments don't want free thinkers. They need us dependant on them, in every facet of our lives, and remind us, constantly, every day, that they are our savior.
Education doesn't suit them.
Indoctrination is their aim.
Deliberately " dumb down" the populace, to a level that makes sure help is always required from the so called intellectual prats that infest Education circles nowadays.
Dependance, on the government, robs you of automity, robs you of independent thoughts, and steals your drive and strength away. It's all to easy to hold the hand out now. And expect cash, for not trying.

The government is thinking of making the Cost of Living payment permanent. The UBI (Universal basic income) by stealth, taking note no doubt on the Swiss referendum which told its promoters to go jump.
Of course the decline was well on its way well before this horrible rogue Ardern Government arrived. E.g. remember Hekia Parata, nice, well meaning lady but not a clue about education strategy. It seems also that, the majority here don't seem to understand the critical value and importance of education like most people of Chinese origin do for instance.
The reality is that even in farming and agriculture, in which this country still leads, we will eventually lose out to well educated, high tech nations employing methods that will massively outpace our productivity. But still I'm not hearing anything from any political parties that even sounds like the start of a strategy that would have any chance of turning things…
What we need now is a strong minded far right leader that would walk over all of this mush that present government and elite Maori are pushing to destroy
the freedom we once had and get our country back on track. The government's
out of control spending is driving inflation up,they will be after our bank accounts next.
Credit to the kids I think. They will not get smart being lied to and bombarded with leftist propaganda. Better to stay home and hold on to your individuality and birth gender.

Yes. I'm a hard bitten old…

Sign seen on a truck recently: “Education is the enemy of poverty“. Why isn’t that the motto of every school in NZ?
