Let’s not talk about the wars they had with neighbouring tribes… Let’s not talk about the cannibalism carried out after raids on the enemy… Let’s not talk about the infanticide within families…. lets not talk about slavery of their enemies for labour and later feasts…. Trading in shrunken heads if their tattoos were worthy… I could go on…. History is ugly…. No matter where you come from… Let’s learn from it not hide it or change it…

if that path would be followed all the edmonds cooking books (best-seller in new zealand to date) would be confined to te papa as relics from a civilized past and, in bookshops, replaced by cannibalistic recipes on how to boil / cook your captives.
