The trouble is NZ is an elected dictatorship. NZ voted in someone with hard left sympathies. She can do what she likes - with no opposition within her caucus and only whimpers from the opposition. It is potentially scary. She doesn't have to lead or manage; she can reign. When Labour were facing Muldoon, they had a strategy and a tactic: find a larger than life figure to match Muldoon's (strategy) and beat him on television (tactic). That was calculated planning and it worked. What is the right's planning?

One should not forget most if not all New Zealand media outlets are socialist inclined, they have been waiting years for the right left wing prime minister to come along, a mother Teresa wrapped up in her socialist cloth bringing warmth and happiness to all New Zealanders, not only is she going to save us all from climate change our dear mother of all New Zealanders has saved us from that terrible virus stalking our beloved country like the devil himself stealing our souls, never mind the fact that we are above our eye balls in debt and more on the way, that our freedoms have been run over in the name of keeping the devil away, our dear mother…

Jacinda has created the zeitgeist of 'kindness and empathy' in the motu. How does any other political figure combat that? Through the television she's made herself electable for a long time.

Yes. I agree it is easy. But the point I'm trying to make is that this socialist revolution has been primed in the schools for three decades. It was never a political manoeuvre because it happened under both National and Labour led governments. Politicians do not write NZ curriculum documents (these are devised by ministry appointed education specialists). The agenda of reform has been what many right wing people call woke - of that, there is no doubt. Now most of the students leaving school would not know what Collins, Bridges, Muller mean when they talk. They have been stoked by empathy and see their female Che Guevara on the podium.
