the two critical areas of the current electoral system here in new zealand are:
absence of a constitution - under a proper constitution a minor party does not get to be "king-maker";
the one aspect of mmp i do have a problem with is it expanded the size of parliament to 120. that should never have happened. it should have been kept at 95, elected as constituents and list mp's.
of course there is also the issue of not having an "upper house" (some call it senate) where whatever comes from the 'lower house' is scrutinized. but that is a different discussion altogether.
Absolutely correct. Luxton hasn't got the balls to speak out in case he upsets the minority voters. It's the majority of us that he should be chasing... if he had 1/2 a brain ??? I will definitely be voting ACT if he doesn't come out and say he will repeal all this racist legislation that labor is forcing upon us. 😣
