Elizabeth's experience with the Ministry of Education comes as no surprise to me.

I was teaching a Year 5 Primary School class the year they came in wrecking what had been a pragmatic and Plain English curriculum and replacing it with volumes of babble talk which was strong on ideology but weak on specific learning tasks for specific class levels. There was. however, a strong emphasis on Maori perspectives.

Some important teacher resources such as Maths text books and Science Units were removed but not replaced with anything useful to classroom teachers.

And so it has continued......

Professor Rata is correct when she says the Ministry of Education is an ‘ideological fortress’. It has been captured by Critical Theorists/the illiberal left/the woke who denigrate objective reality at every turn. They have so subverted ‘education’ with their cynical ideology that our children are becoming illiterate and innumerate at an alarming rate. They aim to ‘facilitate’ our children to become Critical Social Justice warriors (not social justice as we know it) hunting out inequities and power imbalances with their intolerant oppressed/oppressor myopic lens.

Now, the wholesale imposition of Maori religion is subverting the teaching of modern science, with echoes of the Scopes monkey trial from 1920s America. We have been betrayed by the Ministry of Education, which is overseei…

To me, the masterpiece of the labour reforms is obviously the effectiveness of the PIJF. Bribery is very effective, especially when the rewards consist of a combination of money and power. Ardern will live in infamy in New Zealand for ever!
