NewstalkZB - "Don Brash: Luxon and Bridges could try follow Key and English"

Listen to ex National Party leader Don Brash talking to Mike Hosking this morning about possibilities for National's future leadership.

“When I stepped down in late 2006, John Key clearly had a substantial majority, but Bill also had very loyal supporters and they got together and did a deal.”

Luxon is all for implementing the UNDRIP. It seems he doesn't even realise that these part-Maori are not in anyway indigenous. They came from the Pacific Islands, and boast about their navigation skills in doing it, They verbally recorded that wherever they landed in New Zealand, there were other people here already. Furthermore, the Maori part of their DNA shows they originated in the area we now know as Viet Nam. If Luxon is going to pursue this fairy-tale of part-Maori being indigenous, then New Zealand will continue to destroy itself by electing the mentally woke.

What we need is what Don Brash stated in 2003, that New Zealand needed to be one people (New Zealanders) and be ruled by…

Australia separated from Gondwana over 100 million years ago. Humans have existed only a couple of million years.

Regardless, the point that I’m trying to make, but obviously not doing a good job, is that many cultures or nationalities (e.g Fijians, the Mapuche in Chile, Tibetans) did not originate in places where they now live. If Homosapiens derived from East Africa and Morocco, peoples in remote parts of the world migrated from there over thousands of years.

As you say, according to the the English Oxford dictionary, none of them can be indigenous because they all came from somewhere else. If you consider they did not come from somewhere, I have yet to see that evidence.

Nicola Willis as Leader with Shane Reti continuing as deputy. Solid performers, good professional backgrounds - they have both contributed outside politics. Competent and fairminded, not hung up on woke theory. I think they would provide real contarst to the Labour front bench.

I don't believe the caucus will give Simon another shot - they are all too woke and have no backbone - the situation is serious. If Luxon gets the nod, remember he is very new to politics and he also pushes the religion thing.....

I can't see him standing up to Jacinda......

He is not battle hardened - I sense National sliding closer than ever towards Labour policies.....

The globalists are at work.....

We desperately need a Party with direction - Australia are in the same boat and a new Party is emerging - we need the same.....

Will give Luxon a chance to prove his ability to unite National and promote policies Nationals core constituency are crying out for but if he fails I have no doubt ACT will become the de facto opposition. Who knows a new party fighting for restoration of lost Freedoms may appear and join/support ACT .

How about someone from the outside as in Yes Prime Minister. A neutral face but someone with some experience. I am suggesting Mark Mitchell and for his experience as a backup ( Just like Bill English was to John Key) Simon Bridges

I wouldn't want Bridges or Luxon for the reason given by "ron" already; Bridges is "damaged goods' and Luxon is woke. We'd be better off with someone straight. I would feel far more comfortable with one of the younger contenders: Chris Bishop or Nicola Willis.
