I was horrified to see a brown man with his hands handcuffed behind his back, being pulled along by a white man, holding a lit cigarette jammed into the brown man's mouth.
SUCK, SUCK, SUCK. "I can't breathe." SUCK SUCK SUCK. "You are genociding me. Hold it closer." SUCK, SUCK, SUCK. Then, horrors, the white man's hand went into the BROWN man's pocket and pulled out some money, and said, "How do you like them apples for a change??"
Every single parent ever has to make a choice when confronted with a screaming, irrational child. One who is utterly devastated by the outrageous arbitrary unfairness being inflicted on them (in their minds) by their parents. Letting the child win is bad for the family and very often disastrous in the long term for the child.
Twenty years ago that would have been a statement of the obvious. Today it will get me branded as paternalistic and patronizing. Probably a criminal.
Sadly, my generation has at best stood by and watched this tragedy unfold and at worst has actively helped to advance it. And as us boomers die off we will leave it to the following generations to confront the…
Don't worry about getting offside with feminists. Feminism's basic objective is the destruction of Western Christian civilisation. Equality for women has got very little to do with it.
Those who don't get this should ask themselves "Why do feminists not criticise Islam for the treatment of women ?" And "Why do feminists not stand up for women's rights against cocks in frocks ?" "Why do feminists not stand up for the rights of in-utero females ?" "Why do feminists not condemn Hamas for their brutality against Israeli women ?" "Why do feminists not condemn Red China for the practice of forced abortion ?"
Well, in every case, those villains also have the objective of the destruction of Western Christian civilisation.…
Well put, Rodney. You state, " you do not know what to do about it".
I know : We must all back our new three-party government to the hilt. We must all continue criticising and ignoring the myths coming from the backers of the the wrong interpretation of our beloved Treaty of Waitangi. And we must all back Gerry Brownlee, our new Speaker of the House, in the coming battle for a dignified and honest debate in parliament about this whole issue.
I lay the blame largely on 1980's politicians such as Geoffrey Palmer and Jim Bolger. Too inept to write competent law and too cowardly to nip the problem in the bud, they allowed this problem to seed, grow and fester.
They wrote law referring to non-existent principles of treaty but didn't have the competence or courage to define them.
They allowed activist judges to set legal precents that became the foundation of an entire edifice of grievance.
They had the opportunity to end the racial divide when the 1984 Royal Commission on the Electoral System recommended that the Maori voter roll be dissolved.
They sat on their hands while Maori tribalists insinuated themselves into universities where they could create a…
I am sickened by this Te Pati Maori attitude. I expected the Waitangi Tribunal would sort the grievances and we could go forward as one people. The reverse has happened. Colonial guilt has resulted in Maori getting far more than they deserve. But that is not good enought for them. They want more. Their insatiable appetite for money and power will continue. It is time for all New Zealanders to draw a line in the sand and say 'no more'. Unless we do so, these people will destroy our country.

Just thinking out loud...
