Roughly 55 minutes after this Rodney basically cut me off when I mentioned that I'd been banned from his blog (i.e. BBH) about 10 times last August/September. His first response was 'what blog'? LOL.

Hmmm. What good education the socialist Marxist ideology has finished that pipe dream off. We are at the bottom of the heap for numeracy literacy and comprehension. 2 or 3 of a our universities are not fit for purpose and the other four are dropping of the world stage at an alarming rate having gone wokeish and abandoned free speech. The trend looks irreversible welcome to LALA Land.Just 40 years ago we were in good shape now we are trying to salvage a train wreck. Around 40% of children are regularly absent from school and the same number leave school without learning anything. LOL

I'm a retired teacher and my son is a deputy principal of a primary school. His degree qualifications are higher than I ever needed and he works long hours that include attending evening meetings and refresher courses. My grandfather was a teacher and when people complained to him about teachers and holidays he replied, "But it saves the government a fortune." "A fortune?" was the puzzled response. "Yes, if they didn't have school holidays the government would have to build a string of mental institutions for all of them."

Just finished listening to the interview What is needed is school choice and a reduction of the power of the teachers unions. This would be achieved with vouchers and only for attendance not enrolment

While we have the current administration and its unholy alliance with the do nothing teachers union, plus useless bureaucracy equally unionised, there will be no improvement to our failed education system. The current rabble needs to go!
