TREMAIN: Pot plant

I think a huge vote of thanks to Garrick Tremain and those courageous others (such as BBH) who have kept our spirits up while being swept out to sea with the tide. It has been reassuring to know that our views were not just our own. Unfortunately, still many mindless 6pm TV1 'news' addicts remain who eagerly soak up their daily dose of propaganda. The deep media swamp must be drained asap.

I haven't watched TV1 OR TV3 for years. Unfortunately you are so right. It is those citizens who do not seek out other information from other sites that are convinced, by the media, that this government is succeeding. The media could interview other new parties and be fair minded however, in the main part, their personnel seems to be made up of a selection of people who are totally supportive of only one point of view. Hopefully they will be defunded by any incoming government. The PIJF needs to be a topic discussed with each party before we vote.

Regarding the many "triumps" of Jacinda Ardern like the White Island tragedy and the Covid response, surely Government departments should be…

If Labour had half a clue , they would make it clear that their choice is purely a caretaker role.

All the mentioned candidates are patently unsuitable , and will cause further damage.

That just leaves Little Andy.

Or Hipkins has done (or not done) in education, or the Covid response.

I doubt that Little Andy would have done anything.

Anyway it seems that Labour has chosen to double down on liars.

Stupid.

In case you haven't seen it yet.

SNAP POLL: Hipkins clear voter favourite for Labour Party leadership race January 21, 2023 Callum Purves

Following Thursday’s surprise announcement by Jacinda Ardern that she will be stepping down as Labour Party leader, the Taxpayers’ Union commissioned a snap poll asking a thousand New Zealanders who should take over as Prime Minister and whether leading candidates will make voters more or less likely to vote Labour in this year’s election.

You think they'll double down?

You might be right.

The right course of action would be for them to resign as a govt. and let us start again.

BUT they are all too selfish and factional for that. Despite that Luxflakes will continue with her policies as he is a WEF trainee. Just another return again power hungry executive.

We actually need a born and raised Kiwi tradie or farmer for a change. Not like Bolger thanks. More like perhaps Matt King.

Pragmatic I hope.

I'm tired of explaining but unless we as a country are onboard to a degree we would not be able to trade internationally. The gretas would be all over us and our produce would be unsellable.

As you are so interested why don't you pop along to one of his many meetings and ask him to his face? That way you'll have an answer to your burning question.

I am happy with most of his utterances so far but the election is not tomorrow so we all have time to judge our options.

Bloomin' amateurs. Sweetie Kiri Allen showed her lack of basic ability as a back bencher. Woods seems to have dropped out of contention-planks too thick to allow free thought. Hipkins skips over the surface. Robbo best kept as Min of Sports....

In what is likely to be one of the most difficult times in NZ's history an amateur govt cannot cope. Ardern has rightly discerned that.

An immediate general election should be called.
